Privacy
No accounts, no ads and no tracking. The game keeps only what it needs to count your streak and run the board.
What the game stores
- A random ID, made on your phone the first time you play. It isn’t linked to your name, email or device.
- How you played each day: the date, how many clues you used, and whether the answer was shown.
- Your screen name, if you pick one. Everyone on the board can see it. If you don’t pick one, nobody else sees you at all.
- Reports. If you report a name, the game keeps your random ID with the report so one person can’t report a name twice.
What it doesn’t collect
Your real name, email address, contacts, location or anything from other apps. There are no ads and no third-party analytics.
iCloud
If you use iCloud, your random ID and your progress are saved in your own iCloud account, so they follow you to a new phone. Apple holds that copy.
Who handles the data
- Vercel runs the servers. Like any web server, they see your internet address when your phone connects.
- Upstash runs the database.
- Anthropic checks each new screen name, through Vercel, before it can appear on the board. Only the name is sent.
To limit abuse, the game keeps a scrambled form of your internet address for an hour when you pick a name or report one.
How long it’s kept
Your daily plays and screen name stay for as long as the game runs, so your streak stays right. Weekly boards are removed after 60 days.
Removing your data
Write to feedback@oneminuteword.app with your screen name and it’ll be removed from the board. Deleting the app and turning off its iCloud data removes your copy.
Children
The game doesn’t ask anyone’s age and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Screen names are checked before anyone else can see them.
